What Activities Are Offered at EOP?
The EOP offers a wide variety of student
activities. Examples include: art
classes, science workshops, writing workshops, photography, chess, knitting,
sports, winter recreation, author visits, cultural trips, woodwork, heritage
fairs and more.
Participation in activities is an excellent
opportunity to meet other EOP families and learn new skills. We welcome your ideas for future activities.
Possible Activities
for 2008-2009
·
Parent Mentorship Day – parents who are familiar with EOP will have a chance to meet with our
new parents to share their experiences and answer any questions. This is a terrific networking opportunity.
·
Secondary Student Mentorship Day – students in grades 8-12 will meet at EOP to get to know each other
and develop positive networks for the coming year. The day will include games, lunch, and a
chance for students to talk to each other and staff about what is working, what
may be confusing, and suggestion for improving the program.
·
Curricular Workshops – staff will provide workshops to parents and students in the areas of
Math, Writing, Reading, and our on-line second language program.
·
Physical Activities – students taking PE 8 -12 are encouraged to plan, advertise, and
implement a physical activity for other EOP students (and possibly their
families).
·
Skiing and Snowboarding at Silverstar – this is a family field trip.
We stay overnight for 2 nights and ski/snowboard for 3 days.
·
Student EXPO – students share a project or passion they have been developing this
year with the EOP community.
·
Graduation Transitions Presentations – students who are graduating this year will make presentations to the
people they fell are significant in their lives, along with members from the
community and school district, to demonstrate how school has prepared them to
transition into life after high school.
·
Graduation – there are a number of students eligible for graduation this year. Therefore, there will be a graduation
committee formed to help plan for the graduation ceremony and celebrations.
